The Home Row.

The Home Row is the foundation of touch typing. Your fingers should rest here when idle: A S D F for the left hand and J K L ; for the right hand. Thumbs rest on the Spacebar.

Proper Posture.

Sit upright with elbows bent at 90 degrees. Keep wrists level with the desk and do not rest them heavily on the table. Eyes should look straight at the screen, not down at your hands.

Top Row Reach.

To reach keys in the top row (Q W E R T Y U I O P), extend your resting fingers upwards and return them immediately to the Home Row after each press. Keep finger reaches isolated.

Bottom Row Reach.

Reach downwards to press the bottom row keys (Z X C V B N M , . /). Just like the top row, return your fingers to their base positions immediately to maintain indexing.
